The MDP Portrait Experience

STEP 01

All About You

While, yes, the entire process is about you from start to finish this is the step where you tell me all the things about yourself. What milestone or chapter of life are you wanting to photograph? What's your vision for your session? Are you interested in custom fine art prints? What's your favorite color? Your kids favorite toy, movie, song? What does your horse think is the scariest object in existence?  I want ALL the details! The little things might not seem important but they help me truly tailor your experience to you.

STEP 02

Preparation and Details

This step is the leg-work. It's where we iron out all the nitty-gritty stuff. Location, outfits, if you really want to bring your dog (you do, I promise). This is meant to be guidance so that you can arrive to your session feeling ready to tackle anything and just enjoy taking your photos. I can give as much or as little guidance as you need to feel like you're going to show up and walk down the runway.

STEP 03

Your Moment

This is where it all comes together! The planning, preparation, and guidance create a stress free experience that allows you to relax and connect. Nothing needs to feel stiff or stressful. Enjoy it and let your light shine. I promise it shows in the photos!

STEP 04

The Hardest Part

Waiting. I know. It's hard. It will be worth it though! I hand edit every photo, no AI editing here! This means that your photos are not going to be ready in 24 or even 48 hours. Depending on the Collection you choose gallery delivery can range from 2-4 weeks. This is the part where I gently remind you I am human too. Chances are though I am going to be so excited about the amazing photos that I go home and send you a sneak-peak or two within a few days, as time allows.

Let’s Capture What Matters Most

Life is full of beautiful seasons, and I know how quickly they can become memories.

Whether it’s the quiet connection you share with your horse, the laughter of your family, the wonder of childhood, or simply a season of life you want to hold onto, I’d love to help you preserve it.

My sessions are relaxed, gently guided, and centered around the people and relationships that make your story yours. Take a look through the session experiences below, and when you find the one that feels right, I’d be honored to tell your story.

Equine

Every horse has a story, a personality, and a presence that makes them unforgettable. Equine portrait sessions are designed to capture the unique character of your horse through natural light and gently guided portraits. Whether your horse is your once-in-a-lifetime partner, a lifelong companion, or simply the one who makes every day a little brighter, these sessions celebrate what makes them so special. The result is a collection of timeless images and meaningful artwork that honors the horse you love and the memories you share.

Portraits

Some seasons of life deserve to be remembered just as they are. The little personalities, the genuine laughter, the way your children reach for your hand, and the connections that make your family yours are the moments I want to help you hold onto. Portrait sessions are about more than getting everyone to look at the camera; they’re about capturing the love, the joy, and the beautiful imperfections that make your story unique. With natural light and gentle guidance, we’ll create images that feel authentic to you and preserve this chapter of your life in a way you can look back on and treasure for years to come.

Testimonials

Micaela was so sweet! I had no idea how to pose or anything like that and she had me posing like a pro! I also had a horse who was a little spicy and she didn’t even bat an eye! Love Micaela and her work.

Testimonials

Micaela was so sweet and was able to capture my mare perfectly! We were losing light fast but she knew just where to position my girl for the best results. Being a horse person herself she was patient with posing, hoof placement, ears up, etc.! Highly recommend!
